Introduction
The African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS) and the Network for the Independent Commission for Human Rights in North Africa (CIDH) will organize an Africa preparatory meeting preceding the 2021 Africa Regional Forum on Conflict Prevention and the Protection of Minority Rights on 10th June, 2021 via Zoom commencing at 10:00 GMT.
Objective: The objective of the preparatory meeting is to enhance the effective participation of minority representatives in the Africa Regional Forum to be held on 16th June, 2021, adopt draft recommendations for consideration by the Regional Forum and establish and strengthen cooperation at diverse levels by representatives of conflict and minorities rights oganizations.
The said preparatory meeting will analyse the relevant stakeholder and landscape mappings in order to identify potential partners and participants in the said region on conflict prevention and the protection of the rights of minorities and indigenous communities/populations. The said partners will participate in key informant interviews and focus group discussions to share further knowledge and adopt strategies for further engagement.
