PRESS RELEASE
As part of the activities of the NGOs Forum preceding the 81st Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR—EARO), in collaboration with the African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS), will organize a one–day capacity–building session on CSOs’ Engagement with the United Nations Human Rights Mechanisms.
The session is slated for October 16th, 2024, at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The capacity-building training is specifically intended for Civil Society Organizations that are active in the field of human rights, to come together to share and explore opportunities for engagement with the universal human rights mechanisms, the United Nations Treaty Bodies, the Universal Periodic Review and the Special Procedures and potential synergies in their engagement with the African Human Rights Systems.
This training will bring together 25 representatives from NGOs and CSOs active in the field of human rights dedicated to promoting, protecting and advancing human rights in Africa.
