The African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS) in collaboration with the International Centre for Not – for – Profit Law (ICNL) will be organizing a one (1) day Consultative workshop and two (2) day strategic planning meeting in Praia – Cape Verde from the 28 – 30 September 2021, at the Hotel VIP PRAIA.
The main objective of the Consultative and Strategic planning meeting is to provide the opportunity to facilitate engagement and strengthen the capacity of Focal Point members in the six Lusophony countries. It is also to create an umbrella body of Lusophone African Human Rights Defenders Network country representatives who will be well knowledgeable and equipped to engage with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights and other human rights bodies on the human rights situations in their countries, particularly on Freedom of Association & Assembly (FoAA) issues.
The Consultative workshop and strategic planning meeting will bring together 15 prominent focal persons within the Lusophony human rights defenders networks as well as lawyers, activists, journalists, professors and civil society organization representatives from the six Lusophony Africa countries (Angola, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, & Sao Tome Principe).
