The African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRSJ in collaboration with the women’s Forum for Peace in Senegal, Guinea Bissau and The Gambia organizing a day of advocacy with ECOWAS parliamentarians on increasing the participation of women in the consolidation of peace in the Gambia and sub-region. This day of advocacy is scheduled for Thursday 20th May 2020 at the Sir Dawda K. Jawara International Conference Centre, Senegambia starting at 9:00 am prompt.
As part of activities of the project on “Strengthening women’s participation for the consolidation of peace in Casamance and the stability of the sub-region” funded by the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), the Platform of Women for Peace in Casamance (PFPC)has also organized capacity building training for women parliamentarians in Senegal, Gambia and Guinea-Bissau on the UN Security Council Resolution 1325, using a global approach to ensure better support for peacebuilding.
Consequently, the day of advocacy with the ECOWAS Parliamentarians in The Gambia on increasing the participation of women in the consolidation of peace and security will be held on 20th May 2021 at the Sir Dawda K. Jawara Internation Conference Centre commencing at9:00am.
Kindly note that due to the on-going Coronavirus pandemic social distancing protocols will be observed during the said training.
Participants will include partners from Senegal, Gambian parliamentarians, women in peace building, mediation and conflict resolution, representatives from the media as well as The Gender Action Team (GAT) members.
