We at the African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS) in Banjul, The Gambia are deeply saddened by the news of the passing away of our colleague Ali Mohamed Abdulsalam Nouh. Until his death, Mr. Nouh was working with the NGO, Alrahma Organization in Libya, where he used to work on documentation of human rights violations in Libya and particularly on the situation in the town of Tawergha.
Mr. Nouh, a Libyan human rights activist participated in the African Centre’s North African training of trainers workshop on African human rights system that was held from 20-22 July, 2018 in Rabat, Morocco.
He also participated in the NGOs Forum that preceded the 63rd Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights held from 20-22 October, 2018 in Banjul, The Gambia.
During his short engagement with us, we found him to be very passionate and committed to the promotion and protection of human rights in Africa. He will be truly and surely missed.
On behalf of the NGOs Forum sub-regional focal points, especially the North Africa region, Management and Staff of the ACDHRS, we would like to express our sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and love ones.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
