TRAINING ON REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS MECHANISMS

The African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS) and the African Commission for Human and People’s Rights will be holding a Training on Regional and International Human Rights Mechanisms on Wednesday 25th October 2017 to Friday 27th October 2017 commencing at 8am at the Kairaba Beach Hotel in Senegambia.
The main objective of this training programme is to build the capacity of representatives of African human rights NGOs with knowledge and skills to effectively use the African human rights and international human rights system in their work towards the promotion and protection of human rights on the continent.
At the end of the training course, participants would also participate in the NGOs Forum which will begin on Saturday 28th October 2017 to Monday 30th October. (Forum on the Participation of NGOs in the Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights) as well as the public sessions of the African Commission. This is to enable participants achieve first-hand knowledge in the practical and theoretical solicitation of one of the most important regional and international human rights mechanism, i.e. the African Commission and at the same time provide a platform to practice their newly gained skills. In addition, the training programme is intended to enable participants to obtain in-depth understanding of the interaction and complementarities of the regional and international human rights systems.
